What We Are Thankful For

November 22, 2017

Once again this year, I asked the staff at CU Service Network to tell me what they are thankful for. As our company continues to grow, it's important to stay connected and learn more about each other above and beyond just a "title." Furthermore, it's important that we continue to stay focused on you, the credit union, and give you a chance to get to know us! That’s why I love to stories about our staff; we are all so different, but we are all passionate about helping credit unions.

Daniel Burk, SVP Business & Product Development
First, I am thankful for my beautiful wife Judi.  We just celebrated our 25th year anniversary in Grand Cayman.  I’m also thankful for my family which has brought a lot of joy and support over the years.  And finally, I’m thankful to work for a company where we are encouraged to stretch our skills, collaborate with our peers and help our clients succeed. Happy Thanksgiving.

I have so much to be thankful for this year, especially my wonderful family which expanded this year with the addition of two beautiful daughters-in-law, Kara and Miranda.

It was a big year in our house. My daughter began her freshman year at DU.

My son had a successful year mountain biking and playing baseball.

My youngest son finished middle school and successfully started high school. As always, I’m thankful for my wife and kids.

Doug Burke, President/CEO
I'm thankful to be working with a great group of people who are passionate about their jobs and have a strong sense of pride in the solutions they provide.

Gaye DeCesare, VP of Compliance
I’m thankful to be part of the CUSN family, and most especially this compliance team. Kristen, Bonnie, Kyla and I have been together for more than five years now, first as COMPASS 4 CUs and now as the CU Works Compliance team. We’ve shared many ups and downs, both personally and professionally, and we’ve always been there for one another. In the words of Vala Afshar, “We are not a team because we work together. We are a team because we respect, trust, and care for each other.” And, we have fun!

Alicia Disantis, Marketing Program Manager
I am thankful for my health, my family and being able to work with credit unions, who are always trying to do what is right for their members. It feels good to be a part of something ethical, when there are so many industries that are unethical out there.

I am also thankful to have been able to indulge in my wanderlust and travel so much this year!  I went to Chicago, IL, Iceland, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany, Denmark, Niagara Falls, NY, Grand Lake, CO, Pagosa Springs, CO, and Monument Valley, UT this year. Phew!

Thankful for a loving supportive compassionate family. Thankful for having loving parents who lived their lives to the fullest with 5 kids, 9 grandkids and 7 great grandkids. Laughter and love are gifts I am blessed to be surrounded with all the time.
