Your credit union has been invited to participate in an extensive research endeavor on Shared Services.
We have created a survey through Kordeleski Consulting to define the “back office of the future. Kirk Kordeleski has national recognition in growing and mentoring credit unions and was instrumental in creating S3 (a CUSO for three $1B+ credit unions).
We will be reaching out to your credit union to capture your opinion and shape our research.
We are sending out this survey tomorrow, March 30th. Â It will be asking few, but key questions.
We appreciate your progressive mindset and willingness to help us push the credit union movement forward!]]>

Fraud exists in many forms: IT breaches, member accounts, employees, scammers...the list goes on.

It seems like every day we hear about another merger. Small, local, rural, or remote credit unions getting acquired by the big guys. It's nice for once to hear a story about a small credit union that is thriving - The Florist Credit Union, in Roswell, NM. They may be tiny, but that have a big vision. This month, NACUSO highlighted President/CEO Kenn Bell and what it means to work for a small credit union. Take a look below at a sample of the article:
NACUSO Spotlight on Kenn Bell, President/CEO of The Florist FCU
In September of last year we featured an $8 million dollar credit union serving 900 florists out of a house in Roswell, New Mexico. The title of the piece was “Merger Should be The Last Resort – Collaboration is Key. This month we sat down with Kenn Bell, President/CEO of The Florist Federal Credit Union to hear his story of how the CUSO model is so vital to his success.
We are excited to debut the Partner Connection Sessions at the 2016 NACUSO Network Conference for stories like Kenn’s. these sessions are the 6th cooperative principle in action: Cooperation among cooperatives. Our goal is to bring like-minded people together in the spirit of collaboration and innovation to help credit unions to not only survive,  but to thrive. We hope you’ll join us. Now here’s Kenn’s amazing story. Read the full article here.
We contacted Kenn to see if he would share a story with us about what it means to be a small credit union: not just supporting your members, but your staff, too.
"We don’t always tell the full story of everything we do, but since you did hear about it, I am encouraged to tell it. Service isn’t just about our members and volunteers. Service here is about our staff as well. Lilly is now almost 3 years old. She was born in May 2013. She was seriously underweight, and needed her mother 24/7. Mom is our member services rep, but of course, she is much more valuable to us than that. And of course, not working at all was not an option for her. Rene needed a job, and we needed Rene. So, although we are limited in space, I agreed that Lilly could become our office baby. Every day, Rene brought little Lilly to work, made sure she was fed, and we all kept on eye on her. I love kids, so having an extra grandchild wasn’t such a stretch. Of course it did present some unusual situations. Rene often had to answer the phone at the very moment Lilly would cry. Luckily, we only had one member that complained, and unfortunately, she is no longer with us. Lilly spent her first 12 month of life with her credit union family. She is now a most amazing young 2.5 year old. I don’t get to see her much these days, but she remembers me and comes to sit on my lap when she visits."
