We are excited to announce our new board members with our readership today. These two individuals were accepted at our governance meeting on April 4th, 2019, and the announcement was formally made at our Annual Meeting on May 15th.
Joe Christian, President/CEO of $2.3B Nusenda CU in Albuquerque, NM, and Dave Krause, President/CEO of $331M UniWyo CU in Laramie, WY will be joining our board. Both individuals bring a wealth of knowledge to the team and represent the credit union communities in New Mexico and Wyoming, respectively. Doug Burke, President/CEO of CU Service Network said about the new incumbents, "I’m happy to have Dave and Joe join the board, allowing us to tap into their years of experience and move the organization forward."
Joe Christian has more than 30 years of service at Nusenda and has held numerous leadership roles during his tenure. He writes, "I decided to run so Nusenda Credit Union could continue to contribute and collaborate with our fellow credit unions in the region." He served as Executive Vice President of Operations from 2014 to 2019; Chief Operations Officer from 2011 to 2014; Chief Administrative Officer from 2007 to 2011 and held various roles leading the Information Systems Department from 1986 to 2007. Joe has served on community and credit union organizations including the UNM Anderson School of Business Foundation Board and the Fiserv/XP Systems Technology Advisory Committee. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Constellation Digital Partners. Joe has a BBA in Management from the College of Santa Fe, and an MBA with a concentration in Finance from New Mexico State University. He is a graduate of CUNA Management School and holds a Certified Credit Union Executive designation (CCUE).
Dave Krause has over 17 years of diverse leadership experience in financial services (brokerage, banking, call center, operations, sales, service, project management, marketing, and credit unions). He cares about people, culture and making a difference. Prior to joining UniWyo FCU, Dave was the SVP of Retail Operations at Fort Knox FCU, where he was responsible for the sales, service, strategy and branch operations (audit, staffing, lending) for 15 branches and 140 staff serving over 86,000 Members with $1.3 billion in assets. Dave has an MBA from Texas Christian University and a BS in Finance from Colorado State University. He is active in his community, serving on the boards for Laramie Chamber Business Alliance, Ivinson Memorial Foundation, is a member of Rotary and active in numerous community organizations. Dave also serves on the budget committee for the Mountain West Credit Union Association.
