We'd like to introduce you to the newest member of our team, Nathan Rogers, VP of Business Development & Marketing. Nathan may be a familiar name to you: he has decades of credit union industry experience, having worked at multiple credit unions, FSCC, and most recently, CO-OP. We are thrilled to have him join our team as he shares the same "people helping people" philosophy that is key to our company culture and success.
A lifelong "Michigander" (say that three times fast), Nathan is relocating from the Great Lakes region to sunny Denver and will be permanently settled here in January 2020. Let's learn more about him:
I began my credit union career 20 years ago as the Director of Marketing and IT for Steelcase Employees CU (now known as Community West CU) in Grand Rapids, MI. I was sold on the credit union philosophy and have never looked back. I continued my career in credit union marketing with Rivertown Community FCU also in Grand Rapids, MI where I led major initiatives in branding, digital experience, IT, branch expansion, indirect lending, and business development, as well as participated as a member of the ALM committee and executive management team.
I later made the move to a CUSO and began helping other credit unions. In 2008, I joined Financial Service Centers Cooperative (FSCC) as a shared branching sales representative for the Midwest and Puerto Rico. My first two weeks on the job involved translating an FSCC sales presentation into Spanish and then assisting with a presentation, in Spanish, to over 30 Puerto Rican credit union executives held in Caguas, PR. This presentation and other efforts eventually led to a huge influx of shared branching participation in the US territory. That same year, I was made the VP of Marketing at FSCC and I've since served in senior leadership roles in both marketing and business development with CO-OP Financial Services and PSCU.
I've been a speaker/presenter at many regional, national and international credit union system events including CO-OP THINK, annual meetings for the CCUA, MWCUA, NWCUA, Cornerstone CU League and others. I've also participated in several WOCCU events supporting credit union systems in Spanish speaking nations such as the Dominican Republic, Peru and Guatemala.
My wife Kenyatta, our dog, Gigi and I all look forward to our move to Colorado. Although we both are lifelong Michiganders, we have fallen in love with the mix of city life and outdoor adventure that abound in greater Denver. In my spare time I enjoy carpentry and the refurbishing of Mid-Century furniture. My wife also calls me a “serial remodeler” because I have remodeled and sold my last 3 homes. We both enjoy hiking and antiquing and look forward to continuing those hobbies in Colorado.
